Rabbi Ayson Englander has been teaching Gemara and Chumash learning skills for over 20 years. He has taught in San Diego, CA, Memphis, TN, and Baltimore, MD, earning himself a reputation for excellence in teaching and methodology. His innovative materials and methodology earned him a "Master Teacher Award" from Torah Umesorah (Society of Jewish Day Schools in America) in 1991, and was also honored with "Chair of Excellence in Jewish Studies" from the Margolin Hebrew Academy in Memphis, TN.
Rabbi Englander received his semicha (Rabbinic Ordination) from Ner Israel Rabbinical College in 1984, along with a Masters Degree in Talmudic Law. He studied under the renown Rabbi Yaakov Weinberg, zt"l, and kept a close relationship with him for many years.
Aside from his many years in the High School classroom, he has been a strong presence in the field of adult education, giving a multitude of classes on a wide variety of topics. In particular, his "Fundamentals of Talmud" learning system has won critical acclaim in both America and Israel, as one of the most innovative programs for acquiring Talmudic learning skills presently available.
He resides with his wife Tamar and nine children in Baltimore, MD.
